Gauhati University was founded in 1947 in Guwahati. The University offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc, M.Li.Sc, M.Ed and LL.M, and in various specializations. Gauhati University also offers M.Phil and Ph.D. doctoral programs along with the integrated M.Com program. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on a valid result in the Assam Assam (Assam CEE) joint examination result.
For all PG programs, candidates are selected based on their grades on the final qualification level and the entrance test conducted by the university.
The final list of merits for admission to PG courses is published by providing a 60% rating in grades at the qualification level, followed by a 40% rating on the outcome of the entrance examination at the university.
Qualified GATE candidates also have the right to apply for the M.Tech program.
B.Ed admission is based on a valid GUBEDCET result conducted by the university.
The University conducts the Gauhati University entrance examination exam (GU RET) to allow admission to M.Phil & Ph.D. courses.
CSR / UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRF or qualified exam candidates are excluded from GU RET.
The University also offers distance courses such as BCA, MBA, M.Sc, M.Com at the Gaudit Institute of Distant Universities and Open Learning (GUIDOL)

Gauhati University B.Ed Admission 2019

Gauhati University offers admission to B.Ed program at the PG level. Graduation od Master’s degree with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Admission is granted as per the

GUBEDCET is a 100 marks MCQs based paper for the duration of two hours. Final admission is offered by providing 30% weightage to the marks obtained in 10+2 and Graduation and 70% weightage to the GUBEDCET score.

Note: Application form can be filled online on payment of INR 1000 as application fee.

GUBEDCET Test Centers: Guwahati, Nagaon, Nalbari, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Barpeta, Goalpara, Dhubri and Bongaigaon.

Gauhati University B.Tech Admission 2019

Gauhati University offers B.Tech in four specializations under Gauhati University Institute of Science & Technology (GUIST). The minimum eligibility to apply is 10+2 (PCM/B) with 50% marks from a recognized board. Admission is offered on the basis of candidates’ performance in Assam CEE. Final seat allotment is based on counselling conducted by the university.

Note: Candidates do not need to apply to Gauhati University for B.Tech admission as CEE applicants will be considered applicable by default.

Gauhati University PG Admission 2019: MA, M.Sc, M.Ed, LL.M, M.Li.Sc & M.Com

Gauhati University offers postgraduate courses like MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed & LL.M in various disciplines. Graduation in the relevant field is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Admission to all the courses is granted on the basis of candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination and an entrance test conducted by the university. Gauhati University also offers admission to M.Com integrated on the basis of a valid score in the entrance test.

Gauhati University M.Tech, MBA & MBE Admission 2019

Gauhati University offers M.Tech, MBA and MBE courses in full-time for the duration of two years. B.E./B.Tech in the relevant field is the minimum eligibility criteria for M.Tech while MBA and MBE courses require a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

The admission to all the courses is granted on the basis of marks in the qualifying degree and an entrance test conducted by the university. Apart from the university-based entrance, candidates with a valid score in GATE are also eligible to apply for M.Tech program.

• The entrance examination for M.Tech courses will be conducted by Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology (GUIST).

• For MBA program, the candidates who have appeared in any All India Common Entrance Test and scored more than 75% in graduation are exempted from the entrance examination.
• The entrance examination conducted by the university will test English language skills, general awareness and quantitative aptitude.

Gauhati University M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2019

Gauhati University also offers M.Phil & Ph.D. courses in various specializations. Admission is done through the Central Application Process (CAP). Master’s degree in the related discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission.

Selection is based on merit in an entrance examination conducted by the university, i.e., Gauhati University Research Eligibility Test (GU-RET). The test is divided into two papers, the first tests general aptitude, computer knowledge and reasoning abilities while the second part tests subject-specific knowledge.

Key Points:

• Applications can be made online through the university website on payment of INR 850 or offline by sending a filled application form by post to the university.
• CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRF or equivalent exam qualified candidates are exempted from appearing in GU RET. Such candidates have to appear only in the interview round conducted by the university.
