The NEET MDS 2022 exam will take place on May 2 according to the revised schedule. The exam was originally scheduled for March 6 but was postponed for 4-6 weeks. NBE also announced the revised timeline for NEET MDB applications. According to the revised NEET MDS dates 2022, candidates can re-register from March 21. You must register online and submit the NEET MDS 2022 application form by March 30. Previously, the registration window closed on January 24th. NBE has also decided to extend the internship deadline by July 31.

Those who successfully submit the NEET MDS applications within the given deadline will receive an exam admission card. The NEET MDS 2022 admission card will be published on the official website nbe.edu.in and applicants will need to download the hall ticket. The ticket will be released on April 25th.

What NEET MDS exam is meant for?

National Aptitude and Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery, abbreviated NEET MDS, is an entrance exam organised by NBE to allow admission to all postgraduate dental courses offered by institutions in India. The NEET MDS exam is an admissions and placement exam held annually in online mode. With the exception of the NEET MDS, no other exams, either state or institutional, are valid for admission to PG dental courses. Results are accepted by most dental schools across the country. A total of 6,501 Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) places are offered under 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% State Quota places, 100% places in recognized/central universities and private colleges through the exam.

NEET MDS 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates wishing to apply for NEET MDS 2022 are advised to read and understand the criteria set by NBE. It is also important that a candidate meets the requirements set by NBE for the exam. If at any time NBE determines that applicants do not meet the eligibility requirements for NEET MDS 2022, their application will be cancelled. The eligibility criteria for NEET MDS 2022 under the MDS Course Regulations 2017 communicated by the Dental Council of India with the prior approval of MoHFW are as follows:

  • Applicant Age : 20 years +

  • Applicant need Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a University/Institute recognised by the DCI.

  • Applicant’s must be registered with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC) (permanent/provisional)

  • Applicant’s must have completed 12 months of compulsory rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2022

 

NEET MDS 2022 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The NEET MDS program is considered to be one of the fundamental tools for stepping up exam preparation. All subjects in the NEET MDS program must be well prepared to qualify for the exam. The NEET MDS question paper is divided into two parts, A and B. Part A consists of 100-point questions while Part B consists of 140-point questions. The NEET MDS 2022 curriculum topics are as follows.

  • General anatomy including embryology and histology
  • General human physiology and biochemistry
  • Dental anatomy, embryology, and oral histology
  • General pathology and microbiology
  • General and dental pharmacology, and therapeutics
  • General medicine
  • General surgery

Part B

  • Dental materials
  • Oral pathology and oral microbiology
  • Oral medicine and radiology
  • Pedodontics and preventive dentistry
  • Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics
  • Periodontology
  • Prosthodontics and crown and bridge
  • Conservative dentistry and endodontics
  • Oral and maxillofacial surgery
  • Public health dentistry

According to the NEET MDS 2022 template, the exam is conducted in online mode. The test paper consists of 240 objective questions and candidates have three hours to answer them. According to the evaluation scheme, 4 points are awarded for each correct answer, and 1 point is deducted for an incorrect answer.
