ESIC is a reputed medical college sponsored by ESI Corporation and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences. The institute offers MBBS and BDS courses with annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS and 50 seats in BDS as per the notification of ESIC 2017. ESIC will be providing the ‘Insured Person’s Quota’ to those who have successfully met the eligibility criteria under ESI Scheme and have qualified in NEET UG-2017. The counselling process will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) that will be based on merit-cum preference of college and reservation status. Admission Policy for Undergraduate admissions (MBBS and BDS) in ESIC Medical Education Institutions

  • All India Quota: 15% seats of total available seats are reserved for aspirants under ‘All India Quota’ scheme.
  • State Government Quota: An Aspirant must be a domicile of a particular state in which he is going to pursue his education   in order to obtain ‘State Government Quota’.
  • Insured Persons (IPs) Quota: This quota is implies to those candidates who were not the part of ‘All India Quota’ or ‘State Government Quota’ . The seats will be filled-up based on the merit-cum preference.

Guidelines for reservation under Insured Persons Quota

  1. The seats can only be filled as per the merit-cum preference.
  2. The Reservation Policy of the Central Government will also come into play.
  3. He/ She is required to satisfy the eligibility norms as per the MCI regulations.

Counselling

An aspirant after making it through the centralized test (NEET) can apply for enrollment under the IP Quota under three groups.You will be allotted seats as per the merit-cum preference of Institution and category. Centralized counselling will be organized by ESIC for the ‘Insured Person’s Quota’ .

Group I: He/She must have been working under the contract of service i.e., employed under agencies for a minimum duration of five years as on 1st January of the year of admission.

1st Counselling: These groups will be preferred for allotment of seats as per their merit cum preference of college and reservation status.

Group II: They must have been working under the contract of service i.e., employed under agencies for a minimum duration of four years as on 1st January of the year of admission.

2nd Counselling: Such groups will be preferred for second round of counselling in which leftover seats after the first round will be allotted based on merit cum preference of college and reservation status.

Group III: An aspirant must have been working under the contract of service i.e., employed under agencies for a minimum duration of three years as on 1st January of the year of admission.

3rd Counselling: Aspirants belonging to Group-III will be considered for third round in which leftover seats after second round will be allotted as per the merit- cum preference.

4th Counselling: Seats remaining after the third round will be allotted to rest of the aspirants apart from the groups mentioned above.
