The university offers postgraduate programmes in the fields of Technology, Pharmaceutical Studies and Business Administration leading to award of Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees, respectively. All these PG programmes hold a duration period of two years. Candidates must need to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university to be eligible for the above mentioned courses.

Candidates seeking admission in M.Tech programme need to appear in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Eligible candidates, who are gearing up for GATE, may visit the official website for online application.

Candidates opting for the M.Pharm programme need to go through an Entrance examination called GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT). Online application for GPAT can be done by visiting the official.

For admission to the MBA programme, candidates have to appear in an entrance level exam known as Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) followed by an interview organized and conducted by the Central University of Punjab (CUP).

At the postgraduate level, the university also offers Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Education (M.Ed), Master of Science (M.Sc) and Master of Commerce (M.Com) degrees under various specialization subjects. All the postgraduate courses are offered with the duration period of two years.

At the doctoral level, CUP offers a wide range of Ph.D. programs under various departments in different specializations. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with minimum 60% marks.

Admission to Ph.D. is based on the score in CUCET followed by an interview. Candidates who have qualified UGC NET-JRF will be exempted from CUCET. However, they must appear for the interview. Ph.D.admission for NET-JRF qualified candidates are currently in progress.

Note: Those with NET-JRF score will be given a preference of 75 marks of written test. However, they still need to apply for CUCET and appear in the interview to complete admission procedure. Those seeking admission need to apply online through the official website.

Key Points:

  • The cut-off marks to qualify the entrance test will be 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD).
  • The entrance test carries 75 marks and the interview carries 25 marks.
  • Candidates working in CUP Research Projects and those holding Financial Assistance from Govt. of India/Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF)/Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) etc. must pass in the written entrance test as well as the interview.
  • Candidates with fellowships from external sources will be first preferred for admission if they qualify the test and interview.

  • On the next page, click on ‘Ph.D. online form link’
  • Register yourself and fill the application form
  • Pay the application fee of INR 800 (INR 400 for SC/ST) through debit/credit card

  • Candidates need to apply online only. For online application, candidates need to visit the official homepage of CUCET
  • Applicants need to read the eligibility criteria and other requirements before submitting the application form
    For admission in the Ph.D programmes, UGC NET/JRF candidates are exempted from CUCET written exam but they must apply for CUCET and pay the fee.
