IIT Madras M.Tech approval 2018

The IIT Madras has initiated the process for the admission of M.Tech 2018. Admission to candidates (who are not required to complete an aptitude test or interview) will be based solely on their earnings according to the GATE score ( CGPA and department review for IIT graduates) and the choices they gave in the application.

Eligibility Criteria

For GATE qualified candidates

Qualified candidates in GATE 2016, 2017 and 2018 and meet one of the following criteria:

Bachelor of Engineering / Technology / Architecture of Educational Institutions approved by AICTE / Government.

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry / Life Sciences / Mathematics / Physics related subjects approved by UGC / Government educational institutions.
  • Degrees obtained in distance learning / correspondence mode for qualification level specified in [(i) or (ii)]. In such cases, departments will follow the test / interview procedure for screening.
  • Candidates who have appeared or appeared in the final examination for the qualification level specified in [(i) or (ii)] and whose results should be available by July 15, 2018.

Associate members of professional associations to include in their related disciplines in the following areas:

  • The Institution of Engineers (India) (AMIE)
  • The Aeronautical Society of India (AMAeSI) (only for aerodynamics,
  • Structures and training currents)
  • The Indian Institute of Metals (AMIIM)
  • The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including the Polymer and Environmental Group (AMIIChemE)
  • The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (AMIETE)

For IIT graduates

Graduates / ITI graduates with B.Tech. Graduation and with a grade point average of 7.5 (on a scale of 10) and higher for SC / ST and 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above for others may apply without a GATE score. These requests are verified by the respective departments.

For sponsored candidates

  • Applicants employed and promoted by sectoral / governmental organizations / private and public enterprises (with full salary and allowances for 24 months) who are engaged by DST / AICTE accredited engineering schools with at least two employees years of work experience may be the latest date of receipt of the Applications to IIT Madras apply if they
  • E./B.Tech. AICTE degree recognized College of Engineers / University with a first grade or 60% overall grade in all four years (no need to have GATE score); or
  • AMIE or any other associate member mentioned above (no GATE score required)

Admission procedure for qualified GATE candidates

  • Admission to the candidates (who do not have to pass the aptitude test / interview) will be graded according to the GATE score (CGPA and departmental assessment for IIT graduates) and based on the choices made in the application.
  • Applicants who need an adequacy test / interview should contact the department’s office according to the schedule.

Persons with disabilities (PWD): For PwD applicants in any category of disability (the blind or visually impaired, the hearing impaired, the physically impaired or the cerebral palsy) benefits are only granted to persons with at least 40% permanent physical disability as part of the body / system / end / whole Body, etc. These candidates must, together with the application form, download the ID card from the approved medical authority affiliated to one of the following centers: Occupational Rehabilitation Center (VRC) for physically disabled persons / specialized workstation for physically handicapped / state hospi Candidates who accept the offer must make an online payment of the tuition fees within the required time. Update selection

It is possible to increase the selection of candidates who have already accepted the offer of admission, depending on the availability of vacant posts. Please note that during the upgrade, depending on the order of preference given, a candidate may move from an HTTA seat to an N-HTTA seat if the N-HTTA is superior in the order of preference specified by the candidate.

Extra round offer after the day of entry

If the candidates admitted in the first, second and subsequent rounds of the tender withdraw from the programs, the places will be released. Although the following offers attempt to fill these vacancies, some seats may be vacated after the day of entry (Monday, July 23, 2018: Monday). When the places become free, the 24./25. July 2018 (Tuesday / Wednesday) a series of additional bids to fill the remaining positions. Candidates who have been unable to register for the first, second and subsequent bidding cycles prior to the day of entry will be considered for this round. Like last year, candidates do not have to register personally for the extra round. Report for admission

Qualified candidates GATE and IIT B.Tech. Graduates who accept the offer of admission must produce a certificate of completion of their qualifying examination and join the Institute on July 23, 2018 (Monday) in the morning. Any failure will result in the cancellation of the offer of admission. Sponsored candidates must also attend admission on July 23, 2018 (Monday) afternoon. Selected candidates will be required to pay various fees and file applicable fees. The candidate must produce a certificate of medical fitness from a licensed physician in the format that can be downloaded with the letter of offer of admission.
