JEE Advanced Exam

JEE Advanced 2017 for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian School of Mines. Only top 2,20,000 JEE main candidates are eligible for JEE Advanced. Joint study (JEE) 2017 Advanced online application form will be published in April 2017. Candidates can only apply to online on the official website of JEE Advanced (jeeadv.ac.in). Eligibility Criteria

  • Performance in JEE Main: Top 2,20,000 candidates of JEE Main paper-1 will be eligible for JEE Advanced exam.
  • Age Limit: Applicant should not be born before 1 October 1992. And the age limit for the SC/ST/PwD applicants is 1 October 1987.
  • Numbers of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Advanced only 2 times in consecutive years.
  • Appearance in Class 12th or Equivalent Examination: Candidate needs to appear in class 12th or equivalent examination in 2016 or 2017.

Application Form

The application form will be released in April 2017. Candidates can apply only thru online at the official website of JEE Advanced.

  • Application Fee: Candidates need to pay application fee thru online using net banking or debit/ credit card.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

  • Exam will be objective type and will be conducted offline.
  • There will be two papers i.e. Paper-1 and Paper-2 and both papers are compulsory.
  • Each paper will contain 3 sections – (1) Physics, (2) Chemistry and (3) Mathematics.
  • Duration of exam will be 3 hours per paper.
  • Negative marks will be there for some of the questions.
  • Question paper will be available in Hindi and English Language.

Admit Card

Admit card will be available online only; so candidates need to download their admit card. Candidates can download their admit card from the official website of JEE Advanced.

 Answer Key

The official answer key will be published on JEE Advanced official website and unofficial answer key will be released by various coaching Institutes after the exam.

 Cut Off

Cut off refers to the minimum marks and candidates have to score for being eligible to get admission into IITs and ISM.

 Result

Result will be available on the JEE Advanced official website. Candidates can check result by entering the registration number, date of birth, etc.

Counselling Procedure

Counselling will be conduct by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). Counselling will be held in online mode. Counselling procedure given below:

  • Online register for JEE Advanced counselling.
  • Online filling up choices and locking them.
  • Seat allotment.
  • Reporting to allotted institute.
  • Provisional admission of the student.
