Examination Pattern

The competitive AIIMS Entrance Examination will have one paper consisting of 200 Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. The distribution of questions is :

Marking Scheme

• Each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3 (minus-one-third).
• Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark.
• No credit will be given for the questions not answered.
• More than one response will be treated as wrong answer and negatively marked.

The total duration of the exam is 3.5 hours.

Language of Question Paper: Automated Question paper will be provided either in English or in Hindi according to the choice of candidates. Applicants must choose / indicate in the application form whether he/she prefers to have the question paper in English or Hindi. This choice cannot be changed later at any stage.

AIIMS MBBS Application Form 2017 – AIIMS 2017 applications are invited for registration in the prescribed form through online mode only for the Entrance Examination. AIIMS MBBS Admit Card 2017

AIIMS MBBS Admit Card 2017: AIIMS MBBS Admit Card will be hosted / uploaded on AIIMS website www.aiimsexams.org from 1 May 2017.

Date & Examination Centres: Exam date and venue will be mentioned in the admit card. The test will be conducted on 28 May 2017 at various centres all over the country. The Entrance Examination will be conducted only in Online Mode [Computer Based Test (CBT) ] in two shifts (9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM).

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam Syllabus 2017

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam Syllabus: The general standard of the Competitive Entrance Examination is that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. No AIIMS MBBS Syllabus has been prescribed by the Institute for the examination.

The Course of studies leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences shall last for a minimum of five and a half academic years including one year’s compulsory internship.

AIIMS MBBS Result 2017

AIIMS MBBS Result 2017 will be announced on the Notice Board of the Examination Section, AIIMS, New Delhi, on the website aiimsexams.org and also on the websites of six AIIMS.

Number of Attempts: If a student does not qualify/pass MBBS 1st Professional Examination in 3 attempts (regular & supplementary) and 2nd Professional Examination/3rd Professional Examination in 4 attempts i.e. 2 regular plus 2 supplementary Examinations (for all subjects) for each phase, then the name of such students will be struck off from the rolls of the Institute. However, in case such rules are modified at any time the appropriate rules shall apply.

AIIMS MBBS 2017 Entrance Exam Analysis

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2017 was held on May 28, 2017. It is a computer based test with a single paper of 200 questions. There are objective type (multiple choice and reason assertion type). AIIMS entrance exam 2017 had – 60 Physics questions, 60 Chemistry questions, 60 Biology (Botany and Zoology) questions, 10 General Knowledge questions, 10 Aptitude and Logical Thinking questions.

Most difficult sections were Organic Chemistry in Chemistry paper, and also Physics paper. Biology, say students, was easy.

AIIMS MBBS Cut Off

Minimum qualifying marks is applicable in entrance exam as per decision taken by AIIMS. Only if candidate gets marks equal to or more than qualifying marks then merit is published.

Even if candidate gets merit / rank does not necessarily mean that AIIMS will allot a seat. Admission depends upon how high obtained rank is and seats available. Last year, following were cut off ranks at which last candidate got admission in AIIMS New Delhi and 6 other AIIMS.

Admission to the MBBS Course of Six AIIMS like Institutions

The admissions to the MBBS course in Six AIIMS like Institutions will be through the same entrance examination to be conducted for admission to MBBS course in AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates desirous of being considered for admission to any of the six institutions apart from AIIMS New Delhi should indicate their preference in the application itself. However allotment will be done on the basis of merit-cum-choice of the candidate.
